My piece "Feminine Matrixial," from the 10th Going Dutch Festival, travelled to Advocate Sherman Hospital (Elgin) to be a part of an exhibition, exclusive to patients and staff. Through a partnership between the hospital and Side Street Studio Arts, the exhibition aims to beautify the hospital space during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the hospital observes a zero-visitation policy, preventing many patients and families from being together. While even I am not allowed in to visit the piece, it is my hope that "Feminine Matrixial" will offer viewers at the hospital a moment of colorful curiosity for its landscape-honoring shape. Here is the only coverage of the exhibition, to date. Click through the Instagram post to see a video walk-through of the exhibition.
