This black and white mono print series was created as arts-based research through the rhythmic process and contemplative methods of academic writing and printmaking. These mono prints display some of the theoretic influences I experienced as a Masters student of Creative Process in Ireland, whilst expressing catharsis and frustration for the glorification of institutionalized, academic production as merited human intelligence whilst discounting indigenous wisdom ways of knowing. Using mono printing like letter press printing, for mass media, these mono prints repeatedly headline for viewers the reflective prompt/ statement: "How We Learn To Read..."
Below are details of the sequential progression of the prints, which are arranged in two rows of gradients that reveal and conceal the main, evocative statement "How We Learn to Read."
